8.9 RILA

Identifying RILA products

Provide a list of 5 filings relating to Registered Index-Linked Annuity (RILA) products filed by different companies. Focus on filings that include the main policy form contract.

For each filing, return:

  1. The company name
  2. SERFF tracking number
  3. Filing status
  4. Disposition date
  5. TOI
  6. A brief description of why this is believed to be an RILA filing
  7. A list of policy forms filed in the filing
  8. Indicate if an actuarial memorandum was filed
  9. Brief summary of the filing description/purpose

Review the product name, filing description in the summary file, policy form names, and policy form filenames for keywords such as 'Registered Index-Linked Annuity,' 'RILA,' 'Index-Linked,' or similar terms that may indicate that the filing relates to an RILA product.

A Registered Index-Linked Annuity (RILA) may also be known as a buffered annuity, index-linked annuity, or structured annuity. It is an annuity that tracks a chosen index or indices and typically provides a maximum rate of return in exchange for the financial services company absorbing a percentage of loss if the index value at the end of the term is lower than the index value at the beginning of the term.
